can't make out the whole story from the log,. here's what i found -

Quote:
[13:49:58] NeroVision - Main menu (1 page)1a20-******************
- couple references to your serial number, you'd best edit them out before they're pinched
Quote:
[13:44:06] NeroVision Physical memory : 255MB (261616kB)
[13:44:06] NeroVision Free physical memory: 95MB (97748kB)
[13:44:06] NeroVision Memory in use : 62 %
- wow, that's barely sufficient to run Windows XP alone, never mind DVD work on top. you should try to buy more memory, another 256MB would be sufficient (though i personally found Nero to struggle with 512MB so i went to 1GB and no more problems for me). I tend to have about 400MB memoru used most of the time, ie i have 600MB free most of the time...
Quote:
[13:44:06] NeroVision Last possible write address on media: 2295103 (510:01.28, 4482MB)
[13:44:06] NeroVision Last address to be written: 347663 ( 77:15.38, 679MB)
- dunno what's happened there, it's like it's only got one AVI of the three and is writing it 'as is', ie i don't think it's being converted to dvd format....
Quote:
[13:49:58] NeroVision Burn process completed successfully at 8x (11,080 KB/s)
- keep it down to 4x

ok....I know it's crass to talk about money but I really can't afford to buy more memory at the moment. And it did get through the whole burn without crashing...just said at the end of it that the disc was full...is there a programme to make the movie small enough to fit on a disc? and what's AVI? where do I change it to 4x?

ok, but you're gonna have to free up more memory prior to the burns, ie close down as much as you possibly can.

the 3 files you have are AVI files (each looks the size to fit on a CD), i presumed you were converting the 3 files to dvd format as you were using nerovision. Then you could watch it on a standalone player. Or you could just watch the 3 parts on the PC, straight from the AVI files (click on the blue link on the word 'AVI' for a description of AVI).
Or you could make the AVI files VCD format (using 3 CD discs) or whatever....the choice is yours....

Oh or you could use free programs such as VSO's DivXtoDVD and (similar to Nerovision) you could convert them to dvd format (but probably have to then merge the output into one file instead of 3 sets of dvd format files). Oh god there's too many choices now i've started explaining :)

as to speed there should be a speed setting when you are ready to start the burn..

right....I don't have any other programmes running while burning...thought of that one first...but it seems that getting rid of the InCD did the trick as far as crashing goes. Now, the movie is in three parts and am willing to put it on three dics if I can't put them all on one. But even putting one part on one disc seems to be a problem as it won't fit...know where to change the speed now and looked up AVI...now understand. Does Nero automatically change the files into dvd format or is it something that I have to do with another program?

one of the whole points of Nerovision i think is that it can convert various files to dvd format. I don't deal with converting AVI'e or similar formats, very often, so when i do i use free utils to do that.
I myself really only backup my own DVD's so don't use Nerovision but shrink my original DVD's using DVD Shrink, this grabs the movie to hard disc (in dvd format). i then use standard Nero Burning Rom to burn the movie to DVD.

If you just want to watch the film then ditch the files you could just watch the 3 AVI's on the PC, but i take it you want to watch the movie on the TV, in which case you're probably best sticking with Nerovision and figuring out how to convert them correctly...

have you looked at this ? -

@Jeddasw,

If I read this correctly, you can't have DVD Shrink encode/compress those 3 AVI files of Star War yet. You still need to convert them from AVI to DVD format, once that process is completed then you can use DVD Shrink to do the rest and back up with Nero Burning Rom.

As Creaky stated earlier that you need to have this program called DivXtoDVD to convert the 3 AVI files into a DVD format first. Which I recommend DivXtoDVD is a useful tool to have. Go here http://www.vso-software.fr/download.htm - and look for the "FREE version" it's on the very bottom of "VSO DivX To DVD 2". I rarely convert my AVI files into DVD due to the fact that my PHILIPS DVP642 dvd player can play any DivX or AVI movies flawlessly. However, if I do decided to convert, then DivXtoDVD is what I used, and I usually convert 5 to 7 episodes of Anime to put on one DVD+R disc. I then have Nero Recode 2 to do the "encoding/compressing", once that's successfully completed. I just back it up with Nero Buring Rom.

Hope this help you a little.
