Hi Creaky , I did some research on Google for:

GEARAspiWDM
Description : CDRom Class Filter Driver
Version : 2.0.4.3
Company : GEAR Software Inc.

Since I needed to know what program is connected to these Drivers I found out that the Gear software drivers are connected to iTunes , Windows XP and maybe linked to the installation of DVD X COPY I also found this to be very informational :

Poor Support - Poor DVD Backup Software
Aug 23, 2005

Pros: Fairly good DVD/CD recorder
Cons: Extremely poor technical support - poor DVD backup support and flaky InCD program hangs XP.

Full Review
The following is a copy of a support resolution to Ahead Nero's InCD program which has a tendency to lockup, disappear, and lose formatting information whenever a user swaps DVDs. The "solution" - to rename "GEARAspiWDM.sys" will disable system access to the drive whn you reboot the XP system (like a lot of MS features, "GEARAspiWDM.sys" is used by Windows XP). This "support" was provided after much handstanding and supplying system information and InCD failure message information.

So I am not sure what to do I like and use iTunes just to play music but not to Burn CD's , Musicmatch Plus is my preferance for Burning my Music CD's I have used iTunes for CD Burning in the past with Nero installed with no problems , A while back both of the Optical Drives disappeard and I started having problems with both Drives so I had to reformat Windows xp pro. I have read in the Google search that the GEARAspi.WDM can cause corruption to the Optical Drive/s as of today I have installed the latest iTunes vers. 6 I also went into the website :
http://www.gearsoftware.com/support/index.cfm (under product drivers) and downloaded the removal tool just incase so I am not sure what to do next with Gear Drivers I don't want to corrupt iTunes or other things related to Windows xp, I did install the gearsec.compatibility driver installer because of iTunes , So what do you think? Below is the GEAR Software Inc. information Guide

Gear Driver:
The latest GEAR driver installer will install drivers that do not require or include the gearsec.exe service. This driver installer will remove gearsec.exe and the GEAR Security service from Windows 2000 and Windows XP systems, if these older drivers are present. The installer will ask you if you want gearsec.exe removed, and it will not attempt to remove it from systems running Windows NT. Unless you have reason to believe that your system requires the gearsec.exe service (see below), you should use this version of the GEAR drivers.

The gearsec compatibility driver installer is only meant for users of iTunes 4.2 or software that requires gearsec.exe to be present (to date, none are known outside of iTunes 4.2), regardless of the OS being used. This driver installer will update gearsec.exe if an older version is being used. This installer includes gearsec.exe. It does not remove the gearsec.exe driver or the associated GEAR Security service. If your system previously included gearsec.exe, and you found a problem when you installed the latest GEAR drivers, you should reinstall the GEAR drivers with the gearsec compatibility driver installer.

For more information on the gearsec.exe driver, please see the this KnowledgeBase article - Why is gearsec.exe running on my system?.
