that is because they did not do their homework before
they put in their chip. I have had one in my slim about a year
now and it works great, although i was smart enough to get the
Summone laser fix installed too.
The first gen. PSTwo (slim) just had real bad lasers that
would burn out for no reason, chip or no chip.
The V13 has fixed that problem so now they won't even need
a laser fix with a chip. And just about any mod you do to play
back ups will void your warranty, i think the slimtool may
be the only one that won't. And the old crap a$$ slidecard method.

Chips are a great thing, once you have a chipped PS2 or Xbox you will never go back to stock or Swap Magic again.

Agree with Steimy about not going back to swap magic after getting a chip. Modchips are just so much easier and less hassle. As for getting a copy of swap magic 3.6, there was one on the newsgroup alt.binaries.cd.image.playstation2.dvdiso. It was the other day when I spotted it so not sure if its still there, depends on your ISP retention time, worth checking though.

Go on limewire or whatever and look it up and download it and burn onto disc. I havent tried it though

u can find .iso files in all common p2p progamms.
i found both versions (2 and 3.6) via emule .

if ur swap magic disc is damaged, it can be repaired using a laser motion, takes of all scratches etc, no if it is snapped of cos cost £3.50 each disc + FOR ANY DISC
