@ little155, who exactly is confused here? All of us here know that it would be on the site eventually, we were just led to a beta version by one of the members.

How exactly does this help in the discussion?

We all know where the site is. We are not stupid.

@twebber
The program has an auto-update feature also.

If you buy the program, they send you updates in an email that goes directly to the slysoft site. They fixed a download time lag error int the last update.

Would there be any difference in the beta version as compared to the version update at slysoft?

Probably not, but just a question. I got the beta version that from a post by arniebear (thanks so much, I appreciate the heads up in advance).

There is no difference, they just put out the beta version first to see if it works, which this one did. Then they put it out on the site, if there was any change to it you would see a different ver. number, which there is not.

Hi Ireland,
Sorry the late response to your above posts; I've been playing more at the cdf board lately. But I wanted to post so I could back up your above opinions. I think you and I both agree that XP is becoming very backup-unfriendly and that Windows 2000 SP4 is more stable for making backups (actually SP3 is fine). And that a standalone (no web connection, sneaker-net updates), dedicated box resolves conflicts from other software. So far, Win2K sevice packs and updates don't include all that DRM (Digital Rights Management(?) did I get that right?) crap that is going into XP. I don't think that there will be any more service packs released for 2K. And I am VERY wary of what might be included in their "update-function" patches and I don't really need their security updates since I am not out on the web with this box.

MS is in the entertainment business now. In other words, MS is playing ball with the "powers-that-be". Twilight Of The God's soon buddy. Linux anyone?

BTW: to others, I'd like to reassure you that only Slysoft-Team software engineers release the beta versions that Ireland points you to. In my experience they are always dead-on-b*lls solutions to new CSS schemes. So no fear necessary but I understand the hesitancy to not update till a version is official. Usually you will wait 1 day or less for a beta solution or 2 days or less for the official release. Just don't let your kids touch the original or just put your original back on the shelf and wait a bit for a slysoft solution.

Best regards,
Whisperer
