I don't think it is a problem. The blank DVD itself supports 8X, but your burner doesn't, of course. Have you checked the media code on your blank DVDs?

hmm i m running out of options now..used good media still no help..updated the burner firmware still no luck...what am i doing wrong?? this is really strange..anyone??

What do you have to do to play a backup with your chip? The steps that need to be taken in order to play it.
