Did u put the new port # in LimeWire and cap ur u/l and d/l speeds?. U can test ur port here:
https://grc.com/x/portprobe=
After = put port # ur using, make sure to restart LimeWire after putting new port # in, leave LimeWire on when running this test. Needs to come back as "open!".
No sig for u!.

Just make sure its the same port # that u forwarded and the one u have entered in limewire.
~tools> options> advanced> firewall config.
Find out what ur speed is here:
http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/
I leave the d/l to full and I change the u/l to like 25/kbs
~tools> option> upload> basic> use the slide bar to config ur speed
No sig for u!.

I went to (~tools> options> advanced> firewall config.) and the port listed is 40783. I remember it being 6346. I went to my ip router address site (linksys) and I went to applications and gaming but nothing was there. Do i have to do this again?
When i do it again, what # port do i use? 6346 or 40783?
This site tells me to do 6346
http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Linksy...
After i change it, should i Use UPnP (recommended) or Manual Port Forward.

Do exactly what portforward.com tells u to do, if it saz to use a certain port for ur router then do so, I dont use a router so I imagine u could use the same port for ur firewall as well.
No sig for u!.

Since i port forwarded, should i change UPnP (Recommended) to Manual Port 6346 (under ~tools> options> advanced> firewall config.)
I dont know what im doing right. I port forwarded limewire using the guide from a site (few posts back) but the port number on limewire keeps changing to another number. I change it to 6346 and apply but after a restart, it goes back to another number. What should i do?

If you're still having problems, then if it keeps popping up with a specific port number, then open that port in your router and firewall to use it.
Also, do put it from UPnP to Manual, that will keep it from doing what it's doing.

Limewire all day. But only for individual tracks. for everything else, BT should cater for..

Soulseek is very good for those hard to find music files.
I use fulDC for DC++ hubs.
Frostwire is the free open version that won't have a PRO version.
”torrent is a very good BitTorrent client that uses less than 6MB for multiple downloads.
Just find something that works for you.
