I seem to have the same problem when trying to load Battlefield 2- Modern Combat and sometimes I also seem to even have a hard time trying to boot it. It takes for every to sometimes load the ignitiating Mermory Card screen.

What's the media code on those Maxell DVD+R's? Does it say made in Japan on the package? To check the media ID, open DVD Decrypter, insert your disc, and check what it says under Media ID or Manufacturer ID. Compare it to this link: http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm
