there should be a jumper on one of 2 of the pins sometimes u need to take this away or it is 1-2 out of 1-2-3 and needs to be put on the 2-3pins or sometimes u just got a couple of solder points and need a metallic intument (paper clip) and short it.

But should look in the manual and c where about the reset thing is.

Another way to reset the CMOS is to remove the MB battery. It's a large (about quarter) size one on the board. Leave it out for about a minute and then put it back in. The CMOS will be reset.

And do that with the mains power off as well.:D
Failing the CMOS reset, you're last resort is to try the BIOS switch, but that sounds risky and a lot of hassle to me.

I am having the same problem, except that instead of freezing at that screen, the system shuts down after a couple of seconds. I have an msi motherboard and after hearing what was happening (that the boot bios wasnt reading the floppy correctly), an msi tech guy told me the I'd have to order a replacement bios chip...not too bad, only 10 dollars including shipping...I wont be doing anymore bios flashing without knwoing for sure that its the problem anymore!

thats not a bad price, but looks quite an expensive thing if u struggle to get the old one out and new one in lol, i must admit i would just get a new motherboard or motherboard and cpu lol.

Well at least they've offered to send you one, and $10 isn't too bad when shipping is included.

@luisjs

U can reset the CMOS and BIOS by removing the battery on ur motherboard and keep it out for at least 24hrs, unplug the pc from the power soo it does not have any power running into it.

Then the next day put the batter back in and c if that rest ur bios and cmos...
