forgot the imbnes is for the psone and also for the ps2 so your going to need a modchip or a boot discs like breaker pro, action replay(psone),or a gameshark(psone) to boot up the imbnes on your ps2.

hello everyone, i am new here. I have a PS2 with a fliptop and swap magic 3.0. I burned everything like you guys said, and it freezes, then I tried CDLoader with it and then freezes. If I get Swap 3.6 will that cure this? I use 3.0 for backups fine and i had one disc that I made about a year ago with the old version of SNES Station work but that has bugs and the games are too slow to play. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

hmmmph. what version ps2 do you have? i have a version 4, and i use swap magic 3.6, and snes station works. i dunno about copied games, because:
1: swap magic says it is not combatible with psx copies/imports,
2: my ps2's laser doesn't read dvd's anymore....
(future project to replace)
you DO have an original copy of swap magic 3... if you could download a torrent (maybe torrentspy.com or piratebay.org with bitlord) of swap magic 3.6, you could use swap magic 3.0 with slide card to launch your burned copy of swap magic 3.6, then swap to your game.
BUT...
here's a thought. my ps2 stopped playing DVD's and DVD format games. I read someplace that some ps2's gradually stop playing certain formats properly.
DO THIS TEST WITH ORIGINAL COPIES ONLY:
(WITHOUT SWAP MAGIC, just regular boot)
try a dvd movie.
try a DVD9 movie.
try a psx game.
try a ps2 blue disc.
try a ps2 dvd game.
try a ps2 DVD9 game (like gran turismo 4).
document the results of each:
boot time,
time in "explorer window" to reckognize disc
whether movies skip in later chapters, bla bla bla.
if some things work, and some things don't,
you could search for "ps2 laser fix" online (without quotes)
or replace the laser.

What actually happens is that on some PlayStation 2 versions (especially the v12 that I own), the laser gets weaker & weaker. According to $ony, this is "normal". WTH?!
Anyway, burning to quality DVD-R media (like Taiyo Yuden) is important, as it prolongs the laser in your system. On crap media (look in my signature), the laser will be going friggin nuts trying to read the DVD. Your laser WILL go bad faster using bad media, NO DOUBT about it.
important: As for snes station, I boot SwapMagic v3.6 (cd version) & then load the SNESstation (also on a CD) w/no prob. If anyone has any questions not answered here, feel free to send a PM.

i read from various sources that ps2's (v1-11) stop reading various discs after some time. i really think it's the earlier versions, say... 1-6 or something, because what i read goes something like this:
dvd technology was relatively new when the ps2 was first released. some "ps2 laser fix"['s] involve adjusting the height of the laser, changing the distance between the laser and the disc, to find a 'sweet spot' that reads various formats better than the factor setting.
http://arstechnica.com/articles/paedia/hardware/ps2.ars (rob nelsen further explains the problem, and shows you in-deph
instructions about how to adjust the laser height)
this can be done by simply turning a gear. however, on some ps2 versions, there is a voltage problem. each ps2 format (dvd movie, dvd game, psx black disc, ps2 blue disc), there is a different amount of voltage required to read the disc. this voltage determines how the laser sees the disc.
adjusting the voltage (which can only be done on a hanfull of versions) is quite a bit more complicated.
http://www.megagames.com/ps2/ps2_laser_adjustment_scope.shtml
THIRDLY, and the option i am going to do when i get the cash, is this:
REPLACE the laser.
http://www.playstationrepair.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CT...
this place sells it. i've found it at a few sites. i've also found it with the cdtray included. MAKE SURE you know what version system you have.

nope. there is no n64 emulator for the ps2. i looked all over the net, 'till i read a thread someplace.
here's the thing: cartridge games, like nes, snes, atari, etcetera...
the cartridge acts as the computer's RAM (random acess memory).
when you turn the system on, it loads the ram cartridge. It's the only place in computer history where ROM IS RAM.
well.... nes, and snes's ram are smaller than the ps2's ram. n64's ram is larger than ps2's. therefore, ps2 cannot load a n64 rom.
however, xbox can. if you have one. with a modchip. and a custom hard drive. and you understand fttp protocalls. and on and on and on...

More likely for the PS3. They ditched an attempt to emulate GBA for PS2 , snes station doesn't exactly run smooth either so really can't see N64 working especially seen as though the N64 pad has 13 buttons + analog while ps2 has 8 buttons including 2 analog and Dpad. If you want to emulate perfectly go for the xbox as this emulates GBA, SNES, N64, Sega perfectly (so i'm told).
PS if you burn snes station onto DVD then you can get well over a 1000 roms on one disc. :)

ps2 pad has 14 buttons. n64 has 14. count again?
ps2- cross, circle, triangle, square
left, right, up, down,
l1,l2 ,l3, r1, r2, r3, select and start.
n64- L, R, Z, A, B, c-right, c-left, c-up, c-down,
up, down, left, right, and start.
14 to 14! oh, wait... ps2 has one more joystick! ha!

for mrsds
here what you need for nes
*nero burning rom
*imbnes v.1.3(http://imbnes.gamebase.ca/)
*Un-zip all the files to a new directory on your hard drive.
*Run rombank.exe
*Under Add/Remove Roms, click the first button to add all the ROMs in a given folder to your ROM list.
*Once you've added all your ROMs, you can manipulate the list to get it just the way you want it. At the very least, you'll probably want to sort the list alphabetically using the "AZ" button.
*When you're done making your ROM list, click the 'Build imbNES ISO' button in the lower left corner. Then pick the appropriate license (USA | Japan | Europe), press 'Build ISO', and choose where to save your ISO image.
open the Nero burning rom software and setup the setting like this
* Start Nero and cancel the burning wizard if it appears.
*Under the File menu, select "Burn Image..." and find 'nes.cue' which was created along with your ISO file.
*Click the 'Write' button to burn the CD.
a Playstation or PS2 that is already capable of playing games on CD-Rs (ie. a PSX with a mod chip, boot disc, etc...)
if you have a PS2 you will need a modchip or boot disc like breaker pro or a action replay psone or others.

mrsds you can't use the swap magic for the imbnes emulator because it a psone format ISO you need a modchip that read cd-r or a breaker pro or a action replay psone. swap magic will not work with imbnes
