Ok, that Filmmaker, it appears uses AVI as input, so that is why I mentioned, Quote: although it looks like way to much converting.
, and yes, it uses CCE, however, it is a straight convert with HDTV2DVD that I mentioned, one might not need CCE. So that is why I questioned your statement.

if i have 2 minutes of high resolution video, will it fit on a DVD? if so how can i burn the higher res?

Right now it is in a .AVI format, just higher resolution then normal.
