I'd spend the extra £8-10 and get an NEC ND4550 or whatever, I got one for a customer recently and it already had latest firmware and works great... but then I am partial to NEC anyway as my drive has never given me any probs in the 18 months I've had it.. and around 1500+ burns :)

Does your Burner Support Booktyping? If it's really old it may not.. and depending on your PS2 it may not like DVD+R at all

If there is a firmware update for your burner check and see if it has booktyping AKA Bitsetting... if so you may need to book type your DVD+R's to DVD-ROM
