Do you want me to be doing heavy processes with it, or just leave it for a bit? Before i was doing 5 days worth of nearly non-stop XviD encodes...

i'll do some video encodes on high priority n stuff.
I may as well mention that my Hard drives are pretty much right on top of each other, theres probably about 2mm between the two...I had to put them like this, i would have liked to have them a bay apart, but there wasn't enough room so i had to put them next to each other. I think that may heat the hard drives up a little bit at least, anyway.
What about the performance leap between AGP4x and 8x? The reason i ask is because in June i'm upgrading motherboard and processor (from P4 1.6ghz to Athlon 3400+) and was wondering if the frame rates would increase dramatically with the 4x to 8x upgrade?
Cheers, Blighter

Okeydokey, here's it an hour later...during the XviD encode i noticed the motherboard temp went up to about 55 degrees.

Yea, but even 40C Celcius (spelling?) is pretty hot...that comes out somewhere neat 100F doesn't it? I mean I don't know. My graphics card gets pretty warm sometimes too. I added an extra fan and put it next to the card--redneck style. Seems to be helping it a little bit.

Well there are a lot of cables, but they're all away from the motherboard, packed mostly in the space just above my DVD Writers. Near the motherboard they're all neat and tidy...
Gotta admit though...my room's a tad on the warm side...I'm at Uni, and i always keep the window open, but it still gets a bit on the hot side in here ( i think my radiator's broken too)

well it depends on ur motherboard, ur gpx card is always going to be avbove everything else, and now ur hdd are low its really just ur motherboard and then should be running at optimum,

Hmmm...well i'm getting a new motherboard n cpu in june, n possibly a new case (will have to get new 120mm fans too!). Hopefully that might help airflow a bit more or something.
Also, i might try seeing if i can get this radiator fixed!! As nice as it is to come out of the snow and into my nice warm room, i might see if it does anything to PC temp :-P
