I'd also have to suggest following the link Return gave you. I used that for my first install and everything worked great. I chose and installed the X3 instead of the Smart, by the way.

Ok so ive decided (and understand) to flash the BIOS via HTTP. Do i still need to make a seperate BIOS file?

What to do before buying modchip:
Download and install:
- flashfxp
- winrar
- iso softwares like xISO, SimpleX, Quix, Craxtion, etc...
Download and burn iso to CD/DVD:
- bios (read instruction)
- autotinstaller disk (Burn it like burn game search for tutors)

- know your xbox version
- read instruction to install modchip (solderless adapter is easiest to install)
- read instruction to flash bios
- Establish connection
- install dashboard by using autoinstaller disk

Ive updated my checklist. Do you think this is correct?
1.Acquire and correctly install Xecuter 3CE modchip.
2.Acquire and correctly install new hard drive fore the X-Box.
3.Acquire and correctly install any other items, e.g. fans and X3 Control Panel.
4.Download FlashFXP, and Qwix or Craxtion depending on dashboard.
5.Establish a connection between X-Box and computer.
6.Download, burn, and correctly install Evolution X or Avalaunch dashboard.
7.Download mIRC.
8.Download the latest Xecuter BIOS from XBins.
9.Transfer it to X-Box via FlashFXP.
10.Flash the BIOS via HTTP.

Ok ive seen the screenshots. Do you have to install it on your xbox or do you install it on your computer then FTP the stuff to your xbox?

for you question. it tell you pick a bios. in this case you pick X3 3294.

I am going to list a bunch of questions that i dont know the answer to. Can you answer them all for me so i understand please?
1) Do i install the autoinstaller on my xbox or pc?
2) If i install the autoinstaller on my pc, how do i install dashboards onto my xbox?
3) If i install it on my xbox, how do i do that?
4) How do i actually get onto the flash BIOS screen?
5) When i have downloaded an Xecuter BIOS from XBins, do i have to get it on my xbox? If so, how do i do that?
6) What do i do after i have flashed the BIOS?
7) How do i get games to stay on my xbox HDD (so i dont have to use a disc)
8) Do i have to download FlashBIOS 3.0.3, if so, where do i get it? And do i have to put it on my xbox via FlashFXP?
Ill post any other questions that i dont understand. (if there are any that i dont understand, that is......)

So anything that i am going to install on my xbox, i have to use a burnt CD/DVD. So i cant use FTPing cant i? Oh, and just say i burnt an app onto my xbox, what would happen when it boots up? Also, do you have to put the autoinstaller on your hard drive?

YES you can. go to my page by follow the link on my sig. then look for "download xbox files" click on it. Go there then goto dashboard section download dashboards.
Then you can ftp dashboard to C drive on xbox.

Ill just use the autoinstaller, it sounds much easier. When i have burnt the autoinstaller, do i have to upload it to my xbox HDD? if so, how do i do that?

One more thing, does using a solderless adapter have any advantages (other than the fact that you dont have to use a soldering iron) over using a normal modchip that you have to solder to install?

Yes. with solderless adapter, easier to install modchip. Plus you dont mess up motherboard as it will be clean.
