Hi Guys,

Well, I had started this thread by using the word 'pissed', but someone has altered it to 'vexed'. Anyway, I do feel 'vexed' is much better than 'pissed', as it communicates the same meaning in a more organised manner. Thanks for that!

And secondly, I do agree that trial and error method is useful as someone mentioned in this post, but for that, one has to spend enough time to get to know a lot of software terms, functions and its uses, if one has to go about tweaking. That would be a bit of problem for those who would be able to spare only a bit of time. That is where a guide becomes useful. Well, one can say, "hey, you want the quality then better spend the time". Fair enough, but, that would in a way be like reinventing the wheel. Not all newbies might be as quick to getting themselves accustomed with involved softwares, especially when time for back up itself takes 3 to 4 hrs. At the end, if the result turns out bad, that would be pretty irritating for newbies.

My point is, use trial and method, but for starters let newbies get a taste of the softwares amazing capabilities. May be someone could post some screen shots of the before and after with using DVD RB. If that gets accomplished, say by a way of a guide being available or updated, then that excitement would automatically result in self exploration or trial and error method.

Thanks.

P.S. I am still in the process of trying the software under trial and error method!

That's understandable. Hell even I look at guides at times to help further my knowledge in certain areas. It's when a guide(s) can no longer help me out because they're not up to date or current is when I go by trial and error.

I changed the thread title & very much feel it is a lot more appropriate :-)
'
(we honestly dont expect any Moderator or staff to be asked about thread title changing , this is twice Ive been questioned about it this week & it is not on IMHO)

P.S I would ask people within this thread (who've already posted) to look & their signature(s) .. then read 'new' sig rules !
URL to forum rules in my sig , ironically enough - lol

If I gave offense I apologize, I just wanted to know I was not crazy when it came up, when you get older you really worry about senility, lol.

Signatures

These rules exist to make viewing the forum as pleasant as possible to all users. Even though you might think signatures with large pictures look cool, some might find them extremely annoying.

1. Text-only signatures should have at most 5 lines of text.

2. An image-only signature should be less than 50kb in size, and be at most 500 pixels wide and 200 pixels tall.

3. If you use an animated picture in the signature, it should not be too distractive. Eg. blinking images or images with quick movement are not allowed.

4. If you want to use both text and image in your signature the image should not be more than 500 pixels wide and 100 pixels tall, and you can use up to three lines of text.

5. All the abovementioned rules for forum posts apply also to the signatures.

Violation of these rules does not lead to an immediate ban. However if requested user must edit his or her signature to fit these guidelines.

lol @ senility bro :)

Wasn't taken as personal , but seems to be a lot more questioning responses these days & starts doing my grey matter in after a while.

P.S. thanks for reminding me that I have all that forgetfulness to come in later life - heheh
