don't know the size, i would have to stick it in and find out.
I did it a while ago. I just know it worked fine and gave my no problems. Just a strait up copy.

wow i feel no love in this thread after checking a few things i think it is down to my media and the size ot the game as generally when i get a game that is over 4gb i rebuild it to be on the safe side but when you rebuild this game it barely changes size and after rebuilding it gets to the second loading screen but stops half way which leaves to believe that my media must not burn properly over the 4 gb mark so what media do you people recommend i should get to check this

you said the game is 4.24GB correct?
You should have no problem with any game under 4.5GB
As far as media goes you will get a million different answers.
Everyone swears by something different, just like you swear by the discs that have served you well for every other game.
I swear by Philips 8X DVD-R which most people will tell you is not real good. But after 2 years of using them i have had nothing but great success.
Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim are two great choices
Sony or Maxcell if they say Made In Japan should work well
I have even had good luck with TDK but i just do not trust their reliability and consistency, although my friend swears by them and uses only TDK. In fact i think my Golden Eye is on a TDK disc.

@gtavice, im not trying to be an as@ byme ans, just felt lke u werent listening. Ppl in this forum are smart as hell and know their stuff, and know when bad media is bad media. Sorry if u felt that I was bashing you;)
If the game is 4.35 gigs or less, u dont need to rebuild it. Its a waste of time and energy, and just pointless since they will with a direct backup:)

i just prefer to rebuild em if they are over 4gb as i found it gives them faster load times and the ps2 seems quieter and i always listen to people say and have been looking at changing my media when i run out can anyone tell me if they have tried datawrite blue 8x as they are made by ritek i thought they might be better and they are not that much more expensive

That is true. All legit ones will still have a disk id that corresponds to tier 1 media.

Ritek = good (not great), cmc = bad. Those are way different from the ones u posted earlier. Those will work fine, still not as reliable to ty or verbatim though.....

In most cases i would agree, but not all CMC Mag. is bad.
Philips is CMC Mag and i have used those for years. They are rated a 5 out of 5 on Supermediastore.com, the same as Taiyo Yuden.
I have had nothing but great success with those.
But that is just because:
1. Philips is one of the biggest electronic companies in the world
2. they worked with Mitsubishi Chemicals to produce some of the first dual layer media and may have picked up a few tips.(Mitsubishi Chemicals makes Taiyo Yuden last i knew)
i would agree on any other CMC Mag disc, but i can't argue with the 100% success rate i have had with Philips.
