it must be your dvd burner because usually all of those programs burn ISOs every time...try burning other things like a movie or video files to see if you get the same error burning those...

I'm at my wits end. I have tried for the last 5 hours trying to get my Xbox hooked up with my PC for FTP. I also am connected with a cross over cable directly to my PC. I have tried just about everything. Does it make a difference if I'm hooked up through my wireless network at the same time?

I followed your steps exactly on connecting to the FTP but it keeps saying that the connection is refused.

it doesnt matter as long as your local area connection is set at use the following IP: and at 192.168.0.100 (or, 192.168.0.1), and subnet mask is at 255.255.255.0 . is your xbox modded? what dash are you using?

Yeah, it is modded. I think with an Aladdin chip (maybe not sure). I'm running Evo X on the dashboard. So I'm really out of ideas on how to get this to work. What would the Default Gateway and DNS be? Or does it matter? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Everytime I try it tells me connection refused. I have no idea. I'm running XP and basically am clueless as to why it won't work.

on your evox dashboard make sure its set to statip IP. also make sure the password is xbox. the default gateway should just be . . .

give me the settings you are using for the xbox and on your internet protocol settings.

Computer
Ip: 192.168.0.100
Subnet: 255.255.255.0

Xbox:
Ip: 192.168.0.100
Subnet: 255.255.255.0

Gateway and DNS settings are left blank. I have tried all different combinations from the different faqs here. But I'm willing to try anything you suggest. Thanks again for helping.

I had the same problem, what it took for me was setting my computers ip to 192.168.0.1 leaving the xbox at .100 And like omar said static ip on.

I still can't get it to work. I tried it two different ways with FlashFXP. I tried connecting using the .100 and it times out. When I try it with the .1 it says connection refused.

in your evoX settings make sure statip IP is ON or YES. make sure networking is enabled, as well as FTP enabled. make sure the password is xbox. also, try disableing proxy while connecting through FlashFXP.

also, make sure you have a controller plugged in, and that you dont have a game in when attempting to FTP. once you establish a connection, then pop in your game.

How would I disable Proxy? I also turned off my firewalls but I read in your faq that you also should disable virus protection. Is there a separate thing I should do for that? Again thanks Omar for helping out.

no problem, its when you type in your URL and username and password in flash fxp under there. but read and re-read the instructions and do them all step by step

Don't know if this might help but put a different ipadress on you computer ex. 192.168.0.4 any other number not the same as you xbox. Another thing I did was I hookup my xbox to a tv with crossover cable to pc that way I can see if the connection is made into the xbox.hope that helps.

(1) After you have a legal backup of a game, can you copy the backup by Nero (ect....) or do you have to do the steps all over?

(2) I went to burn halo 2 using DVD Decrypter and it said something along the lines where the file was too big. Should all games fit on a standard dvd - or do I need dual layers for some games??

That QUIX sure is a great program and fast as lightning!!!

1) Yeah you can just copy it again using Nero or DVD Decrypter.

2) Not all games will fit on a standard DVD. Halo 2 is well over. Many games are, but you can either delete certain un-necessary files, or use a dual layer disc.

kfact,

can you tell me exactly what your problem is? first off, make sure that your static IP is set to on and also FTP is enabled on your evox settings. also, make sure when attempting to FTP that you have an xbox controller plugged in.
