You know why? Because they'll make more money off it that Sony would by reselling them. I dont care anyway i would never sell my ps2 i spent too much time with it to that. Plus EB or Gamstop wouldn't but it; it's too heavily modified

as oofRome said ,every console has it advantages and disadvantges, like how long it would take to be hacked ,Value/price,Grafix, and the FUn FACTOR(Gota hand it to the Wii). But,if i could only buy 1 of them it would definatly be the ps3 cause i am huge MGS fan, it has a 60 GIg Hard drive, and Blu-ray. Lucky for me i fainaly saved some money and soon gonna buy all of em.
DISTURBING THE PEACE SINCE - uhh.. i made an account?

Sorry if my sentences run on a ...little...
Xbox360: I babysit my nephew and my sister bought a 360, so far I'm not impressed. Graphics are ofcourse better than ps2, especially in HD. First thing i couldn't believe is that Microsoft charged people about 100 dollars for a 20 gig hard drive when a PC hard drive valued at 100 dollars will give you 250gigs. There are work arounds to connect a pc through the usb port (from lik-sang), but thats much slower than Ide/sata (hard drive cables). I'm really surprised the 360 doesn't have a tv tuner, media center machines usually do so you can record tv to the hard drive and view it later, aka PVR, then again most media center machines are Viivs with a dual core processor for multi tasking, 360 isn't. I can't believe Call of Duty doesn't support a keyboard and mouse, lazy programmers. Sports games don't support a digital camera for self portraits. For me playing a game like Oblivion for 6-10 hours at a time and then freezing just sux. I've seen fan upgrades at lik-sang, but honestly at E3 it was announced most 360 games will run on Windows Vista, which I am running for free right now. For the money I would recommend a pc over 360 anyday. It's pros over the other systems (theoretically since Wii and ps3 OSes details are unknown): Dashboard (like alt-tab on a pc, but better). It's OS is basically a skinned version of media center which can emulate XP. Meaning it will be very flexible when hacked (coming very soon, mod chip in testing last I checked), but very flaky compared to dedicated OSes like the ps2 which is more like linux/dos. Call me lazy but I love the X button on the controller that accesses the dashboard and boots the system similiarly to the flying windows key or start button in windows.
Wii: My suggestion is a third party battery that recharges off kinetic energy(motion)! I think if I don't buy the Wii right away, once it is hacked and can emulate my roms perfectly, I will buy it for sure. I'll be glad to play gamecube games on it, as my brother tripped on the controller cable one day and bounced my cube. Even after repairs it still barely works; it freezes when loading too much data, like in Phantasy Star Online or Metroid. I don't like the fact that it doesn't use standard dvds, as it will rely on flash or usb memory for running anything hacked. As far as people not liking the controller, don't worry Nintendo or a third party will make a gamecube style motion controller I am sure. Hell give me one of each and I could make one assuming the motion sensors don't require 50/50 weight distribution. I like that the Wii has common memory card ports like Secure Digital. The prices keep dropping and the technology is advancing for them because of palm pilots, now allowing SD cards to have functions like Wifi or Bluetooth capabilities as well as data storage. I liked how the Gamecube used the Gameboy advance as a controller and added some functions in some games normally not available without it. If the Wii/DS follow suit, then we could see some nice touch/stylus screen fun for the Wii. Also the DS already supports loading game data from gameboy advance games to unlock unique features in DS games, I'm sure the Wii will do that. Then if you buy a Wii, your more likely to buy a DS. When using a gameboy advance as a controller for the Cube it was lacking a couple buttons, but it worked sometimes. My beef was that if you used an extra function like a special radar screen on the GBA controller, then the screen had to be on, draining the batteries. Recently I played a VS match of Yugioh on DS, the game took almost 2 hours as I was unfamiliar with the deck and some of the newer cards. My friends DS was almost dead and he didn't have his power adapter. I have yet to see a cable to convert the DS unique port to usb, but that would be easy to splice, no transformer needed, so it would be compact for travel. Also a similiar cable could be made to connect a DS to the Wii controller port (nintendo will probably do this) and as long as Nintendo thinks ahead and connects the power lead then the DS "controller" will recharge through the Wii. Once again besides adding functionality like a touch screen/extra minimap screen, the DS will lack as many buttons as a Wii or Cube controller and ofcourse lack motion sensitivity. When you look at recent trends in games and movies it isn't always high end graphics that are latest hype. With comic books stories becoming box office landslides and anime/manga becoming more popular in north america, the Wii may be better off without high definition. I'm currently playing an RPG game on Ps2 called Megaman Command Mission, it's like Final Fantasy, with Megaman, but in cell shaded graphics. I have seen alot of good games on ps2 and the cube in cell shaded graphics, some good and others bad. A fun little cell shaded racing game on Ps2 was auto modelista. "A Scanner Darkly"(Keanu Reeves,Woody Harrelson,Wynona Ryder) the first Cell shaded Hollywood movie came out 2 weeks ago and is already out of theatres (here in Montreal,Canada). Personally I think cell shading looks like a 3d comic, and is very appealing. Some people like it, others think it is too cartoony I guess. I think the Wii will have the same benefit/problem. Some people see the possibility of viewing something at its highest potential the most appealing. Others find variety and content to be more important. This will be the Wii's battlefield. If I worked for Nintendo, I would suggest to make the system have support for DRM copyrighted games, but also for roms. If there was a system that emulated games perfectly, had cutting edge new technology, removable data storage, online capability, 4 controller ports and a cheap price tag, who wouldn't buy it? So many roms, so little time.
PS3: It's release price is a bargain for the technology you are getting as a Samnsung blu ray player is about $1300 and a ps3 is like 5-600, and the ps3 does so much more. I never buy a system when its new and full priced, but this may be an exception. I got my ps2 when it went down from $450 to $200, and similiar dvd players were 150-600, and the ps2 did more. Friends of mine have bought DivX players to watch stuff on, I am fortunate to have my PC connected via svideo to my tv and coaxial to my surround sound, and I have a few PCs in my room. I may upgrade to the ps3 early just so I can enjoy Blu-ray quality, but I'll spend alot of money on a good widescreen HD tv first. I'll probably want a ps3 for its graphics in racing games. I find these are the most demanding because at high speeds you want to see far ahead to plan your adjustments. On ps2 in a game called Tokyo Racer, I found the colors bled and I couldn't see far enough ahead. So I bought a digital tv with about 7-800 lines of resolution and a set of liquid nitrogen Monster component cables. Well, I still play that game today and no colors bleed and I see much further. I have had a nice cheap yamaha surround system now for a long time for my ps2. I bought it for movies, because games over the last 5 years haven't really supported surround sound much. Recently ps2 games support dolby prologic 2 and the programmers have been splitting the sounds up nicely, I hope this happens on the ps3 right away. I wonder if ps3's video port will be the same as ps2 and ps1's as they were intechangeable, ofcourse it will need a second hdmi port, but it would be nice to reuse my monster component cables (at first), they're guaranteed for life! I'm glad ps3 went back to the ps2 controller style but I hope they integrate a dashboard/system button. I hope ps3 has sata or ide cables for its hard drive, not some custom job like 360's. One of my concerns is that a blu ray disk is gonna hold 30-50gigs and the loading time may be hard on some impatient people. Although if Sony is smart they may try some hard drive or ram "cache" (prefetching) tricks.
If you made it this far without skipping ahead, I am very surprised.

Ok, alittle off subject, but is their anywhere you can pre-order Wii's? Have they even stated anything about pre-order's yet?

I bet if you called your local toys-r-us or gamestop or equivalent they would allow you to pre-order. games can for sure be preordered, so I don't see what's stopping a wii preorder.

plus pre-ordering a wii makes sense because of it's low price point. For instance putting down $50 on a wii preorder would be about 20%-30%(depends) of the entire cost of the console.Dropping $50 on ps3 is like a drop in the bucket LOL.
