Yes I understand the difference between FLASH 0 and Kernel access...im saying that soon after an exploit is found we'll have kernel access then only can we have access to FLASH 0 correct me if Im wrong.

There are many new developers on the block and they have been trying to find an exploit on 2.71 for quite some time, a well know dev. working on it, our very own- Dark_Alex.

Im just guessing (and hoping) LOL we have a downgrader soon...who knows there might be an exploit dicovered very soon who knows, it could be now or never just a speculation...

Now my main argument is that u stated that-
Quote:
AS of this moment in time, 2.71 and 2.8 have the same chance of having a downgrader. Nothing's been discovered in either firmware to produce an exploit. NOTHING, meaning we're not even CLOSE to a downgrader.
This statement of urs depends on the proof u give me that 2.8 has very little or no security improvements. Now show me a link..This statement or proof will also prove if 2.8 or 2.7/1 get a downgrader soon.

Oh, you're half right. If we find an exploit we'll either get Usermode, Kernal Access, or Both. Usermode is what the exploit in 2.6 was before it got kernal access and the downgrader. Usermode limits you to what you can do, like the Eloader couldn't launch all homebrew and for a long time you couldn't use WiFi apps.

I haven't heard anything about Dark_Alex for awhile so thanks for that update and info.

The key word being, might.

In terms of the firmware security I couldn't find the exact link that I had found earlier, but here's something that half answers it. http://forums.qj.net/showthread.php?t=62939&highlight=2.8+security

Well seeing the link you sent me, it is quite clear that it is uncertain if there is most likely going to for an exploit for 2.8 sooner than 2.7/1...now many people say that stick to 2.7/1 as it has less security than 2.8 less even if 2.8 has slight security patches its security level is still higher than 2.7/1 and the people on that thread still don't have any proof to prove this point. One person said that just like 2.01 or 1.52 did'nt have any have any exploits whereas 2.5/2.6 did just like that 2.7/1 may not have any exploits whereas 2.8 or 3.0 might have one. I go against this statement by saying that 2.01 and 1.51/1.52 were not worked upon for a stable downgrader...look on the net and see for yourself. Just like that an eg- 1.0 has very little/no homebrew capabilities whereas 1.5 is godlike.

Another thing that has happened with many users is that they upgrade their firmware and an exploit is found in the firmware they just upgraded from...that is the most common case these days and I myself have faced it...that's why I recommended him to stay on 2.7/1 (repeated lol)

So I complete my post by saying that there might might not be a downgrader/homebrew/exploit/kernel mode for PSP 2.8 or 2.7/1

LOL
