I'm not sure but I don't think it will play cd's or mp3's.As far as pictures you prolly know about the photo channel where you can watch stored videos and pictures from your sd cards.

The good news is nintendo may add a music channel eventually :)

who the hell cares. everyone has a dvd player which would be better than a video game cosole. everyone has a stereo, cd player, radio, ipod and a comp for music whos needs a video game console to do that. thats what nintendo were thinking "why should we waste more money we are already making $200 per console we dont want to take that away," lets go back to the days when a console just plays games.

yes thats true they have pushed the "video gaming" term to where it really shouldnt be but if they have already decided why not just top that off now by adding cd and mp3 support or a music channel i love playing games with my own music not the crappy stuff they give you but this still wont turn me away from the conosle as i never turned away ferom my ps2 just cause the xbox had mp3 support but n64 and psone i played equally as i liked the n64 graphics and some of those games much more then psone games like 007 goldeneey and sm 64 but psone did ave the much bigger library and was and still is the host of my fave racing game gran turismo
