So you want help with a movie you do not own?
99% of all problems are between the computer and the chair.

Nop, is my friend that wants to make a backup of his Tokyo Drift and I am helping him to do so since I'm more familiar. I will not bother to keep DVDs as I usually get them in DivX format.

Thanks glade73, I read about afew successful user using DVDFab too. I guess is either the Tokyo Drift DVD that is giving the problem or probably it needs newer DVDrom to read it.... sign...

I think the latest AnyDVD is ver 6080 but so far no one said it works on ripping Tokyo Drift DVD.... So far the successful members are mostly using Ripit4me and DVDFab which are freewares.

Of course it will. See my first post, on the first page of this thread. I did it using DVD Shrink w/Nero and AnyDVD running in the background. That was probably version 6.0.6.3 or 6.0.7.0 back then. If the older version did it, the new one will.
With those softwares, it was nothing special. No problems at all.
BTW.........
The newest version is 8.0.8.2 as of this morning (Sunday morning).

I don't know why some newbies can't backup this movie (TF&TF TOKYO DRIFT). All you need is either DVDFAB Decrypter or RipIt4Me (both are totally free) and the rest is history, simple as that.

I can't seem to back up my copy using either RipIt4me or DVDFAB, neither one is able to do a back up. I keep getting errors with DVDFAB and with RIPIT4me it does everything up fine, then says that the disc is scratched or dirty. Seems to do this on a lot of movies i have, even the new ones. When I take the disc out to check it (Tokyo Drift and it's perfect) and then put it back in, it can't seem to work. Keeps failing to re-rip the disc.
Can anyone offer any suggestions for me. This is the second F&F Tokyo Drift disc I've tried to backup originally thinking the first one was defective.

kraftypkt:First you might want to check to see if your Dvdfab is up to date then if thats ok try maybe cleaning your rom lense with a dvdrom cleaner disc.Since you say you have a lot of problems latly it might just need a good cleaning. What I did for tokyo drift was I ripped with Dvdfab then I ran all the vts files through FIXVTS 1.5 then I take the folder that FIXVTS 1.5 made and droped the whole thing into DVD Shrink. That seemed to work for me.Hope I was some help.

I believe that I have downloaded the newest version of DVDFAB. I know that the last time I downloaded it was about 2 weeks ago. It always gets about 70% done and then says there's an error. This movie seems to be impossible for me to backup!

kraftypkt: The only other thing I can think to tell you is to download the program AnyDVD and if you dont have it already DVD Decrypter.I have heard of some people ripping it with DVD Decrypter while having AnyDVD running and it has worked that way.if that does not work I am at a loss.Good luck,glade73

This movie is impossible for me. Now when I run RipIt4Me it starts DVD Decrypter and after trying to create the PSL file, it says it is not necessary for the backup. Then in the log area it goes on to read that the "Pack Header" is not found and then constantly asks to retry. I don't get why this movie is so difficult for me to backup. I get errors with DVDFab and also RipIt4me. AnyDVD had an expired trial and now I don't know what to do.
If any one may have an idea on what's going on here, I would greatly appreciate the help. Has anyone else had this much difficulty with this movie. I have a Compaq computer that I bought last Nov. It was a good one at the time. PLEASE HELP!!!! I liked this movie and I am backing up all of my movies in case anything were to happen to the originals.
Thanks

THE FAST & THE FURIOUS: TOKYO DRIFT is not "impossible" to rip, DVDFAB Decrypter can handle that piece flawlessly even if it has the "Flux DVD Protection."
<>Here's my revised guide for "THE FAST & THE FURIOUS TOKYO DRIFT (US Region 1)"<>
DVDFAB+VobBlanker+DVD Shrink+ImgBurn -- you can simply skip STEP #2 VobBlanker, unless your an advanced user and know what/where to blank out (i.e. FBI Warnings, Trailers/Advertise, Extras, etc.)
Regards

@glade73
ImgBurn is totally FREE, it is an ISO image & VIDEO_TS burning engine, it is developed by Lightning UK from DVD Decrypter (the once greatest free ripper of all times).
Go here http://www.imgburn.com/ and download it today. I highly recommend it -- this free tool can do so much. LUK is getting better and better, that's all I gotta say.
