Can you let DvdShrink burn the output files with Dvd Decrpypter and get Nero out of the picture?
If it failed again then I would guess the problem is not with Nero at all.

I would suggest you try a different brand of disc, Verbatim or Sony (made in japan) although the log indicates that the last burn was successfull.

ok, tried it with a TDK-R and still got an error at exactly the same place. I've been watching it carefully & I think the reason I'm not getting a history log is because it's not getting to the point where it's burning the actual film onto the DVD (although it's obviously writing some information, hence the reason I'm getting coasters).

It looks to me like the error is occurring at the transcoding stage, so could it be that one of my codecs has got corrupted and if so, how do I resolve that ?

Am I making any sense or am I barking up completely the wrong tree ?

cheers
Mike

Things are getting even more curious now - I just tried to burn another different file (.avi of a recent TV show) and whilst it got past the 8 minute mark which the other 2 failed on, it was at about 9 1/2 mins when the PC just shut down and restarted itself.....

I'm now doing virus (AVG) and spyware (AdAware) checks to make sure something nasty hasn't got into the PC with all the removing and installing of programs
