The audio tracks that DVD2AVI demuxes each have their own delay and encoding method. Just think of them as all playing at once, but you only hear one. If you demux all of them, DVD2AVI creates a separate file containing each track. If you just demux ONE, it only creates a file for that one. It really doesn't matter if you just demux one track or if you demux them all (unless you're hurting for hard drive space). Also, FYI if the delay is less than about 30ms you don't really need to correct it. It's accepted that a syncing problem can be detected by people at around 80ms and above. To answer your other questions, I use DVD2AVI version 1.77 (for the DTS option). I've never had a problem with a warner brothers movie.

Gryphon -
You really can't exclude cells with ReMPEG. I'd use IFO Edit first to strip out whatever you don't want and then ReMPEG it (but use CCE or TMPG if you can).

I encountered these same problems when using DVD Decrypter to rip Harry Potter. I switched to vstrip and the problems went away. Vstrip is a little more complicated than SmartRipper or DVD Decrypter but you can find the ripping guide for it at doom9. I use TMPGenc instead of REMPEG for transcoding.

"yes i too have read it is the warner bro logo causing the problem but most of the time the logo is part of the VOB with the opening credits so it is not so easy to remove that part (cell) I have posted another thread on removal of cells after stripping but no answer yet on this ( you can use smartripper to remove cells but i prefer dvddecrptor any ideas???? "

The way I did it (Oceans Eleven where the WB logo is in the same chapter as the start of the film and has sound over it) was to rip the first two chapters and keep them.

Then rip everything else and re-encode it using rempeg. Then remux in IFOedit. So now you have everything but the first two chapters.

Rename the VOBs starting from 2.
Copy the VOB of the first two chapters that you saved earlier and haven't re-encoded and paste it into the folder with the renamed VOBs in.

Now have IFOedit make IFO's for the new set of VOBs.

this was trial and error but worked fine. Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere.

BTW if you try and fit a 3 hour movie on one DVD it'g going to be blocky whatever you do.

2 hours is my cutoff or 80% in rempeg anything else I split.

Use Vobrator to figure out which VOB ID contains the stuff you want to strip. Then use the 'Strip VOB ID's' option in IFO Edit to strip that particular VOB ID. This will do the trick.

The solution is really simple. REMPEG works in conjunction with IFOEdit. First rework the .vob files with IFOEdit to strip the VobId's that contain the Warner Logo. Then procoess the new set of .vob's through REMPEG. Get the new version of REMPEG2. It even builds the CFFL file that REMPEG works from!

I ripped the main warner bros movie only in dvd deccrypter in IFO mode and untick the first chapter , then copy the VIDEO_TS(IFO) VIDEO_TS.BUP, VTS01_0(IFO)and the VST01_0.BUP files to that directory and then rempeg it and it works out ok ,

One way around this is not to rempeg the first VOB file
Just do all the others as normal then rejoin them you will get 100% results
