onestop: I doubt it. When you say "backup movie into the same Harddisk" do you mean from your notebook to the HDD on your PC via network? or do you mean just the HDD on your notebook.

I'm running DVD Shrink on my notebook alone on the c:\. Like I said just want to check if there is any requirement of doing backup in different partition or HDD.

I have ran DVDshrink both ways.. ripped from the DVD drive to the C drive or to my E drive and had no trouble at all.. I cannot comment about a laptop.. Should work just fine. As far as system spec's go bigger is better

No, its fine with one hdd and no partitions. Could be conflicting software?
