@ tom_v
I have never personally used the discs with the Sony label on them, but with my experience over the years with the GQ brand, I would trust them. These discs are made by Sony (without putting their name on them) and sold to a different company which puts their name on them and markets them under the GQ brand. This is what is done with a lot of products on the market. Once burned to, I have never had one go bad over the past 10 years.

is that a decent deal for verbatim +r?
i just went through a divorce, so i've been finishing up the last 200 i had left from over a year ago.
thanks
Yea that is a good deal except if youre like me and you hate mail in rebates with a firey passion.
As for next week Best Buy and Circuit City have nothing so I won't make a new thread until I get an ad that does have something...most likely Friday

Picked up a 50 qty of the Sony +Rs at Office Depot. They code out to just plain "SONY." No D21 or anything.
Anyone ever use these?

Never mind. Just switched to DVDIdentifier and am not used to it yet. I read the wrong screen. They're D21s.

no wonnder, last time I bought like 1000 Sony at Office Depot and this media code "SONY" is fake. Lots of burning error, I burn half way and its giving me an error and i threw away a bunch. I'll never buy at Office Depot again. Buy at staples or Office max or best buy, the media code is 1st class

Sony-brand 16x MIT media is made by a company called Daxon.
GQ-brand 16x MIT media is made by a company called Lead Data.
Both are genuine Sony media, made with Sony materials and to their specifications.
The Daxon made Sonys are a bit better, but the Lead Data Sonys are still decent and reliable media.
Staples has the 100-pack of Sony-brand media on sale for $25, whereas the GQs are usually on sale for $20 for a 100-pack. If the Sony-brand media wasn't on sale, I'd say get the GQs, but since they are, you might as well get them at Staples. The slightly better quality is worth the extra $5.

Quick question:
Sams club has verbatim on sale at all times. 50 pack is $15 and a 100 pack is $28.
Are these junk? Am I the only one picking these up?

i'd pick them up if i still had a sam's membership.
now i have costco, and they carry imation dvd +r packs, which i'm guessing is crap.

You could always ask for a pass.
I believe all they do is tack on
an extra 10 %. Still not a bad deal.

@jlg895
are you sure those are the verbatims because the price at my sam's club was like 31.99. probably different sams have different price. if its verbatim, then its one of the best media you can get. i think the only one better then that is Tyg03 16x +r from ty.

Yeah, I'm sure. They're the only ones I use.
Although, I went to pick some more up ystrdy
and they don't carry the 50 pack anymore. Only
the said 100 and it was for $32. Still saves me
from having to check the adds so I don't mind the price jump.
