ok. So i got another psu, tested the motherboard with the video card plugged in and it actually displayed. I switched back to the regular psu and then this time this psu worked. I booted up the computer to the desktop and my ethernet card wouldnt start(i went to device manager) and only half of my ram is showing up. I have four slots of ram, and switch the right two slots with the left two slots. This still only showed half of my ram. I think maybe the psu is going slowly. Do you think that is it?

so when the new PSU is in there are no problems???
sounds like your old one is slowly going and does not have the power for you new card, i am sure you can get a new one for not too much money.

---just turned it back on again.. with the testing psu and it wont display. Could my mobo or something on it be bad that would cause something like this? thanks

duboy, try 1 stick of ram at a time in a slot that allows the pc to post then test all the ram in that slot to see if all post individually. possibility your motherboard is going.

alright, i tried my ram before separate and they didnt work. Just so you know though, i specifically remember my ram working and picking up all 256mb, but once this stuff started with the video, i noticed the ram didnt fully pick up. So is it possible that this mobo is actually bad and i need a new one? I found one on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...17005&rd=1&rd=1
same as mine now, would it be smart to get it? Thanks

we have tested everything right?
mabey go to softpedia.org (not sure if I can post links) and search UBCD and download it, make a bootable disk then boot form it
EDIt: now I am feeling stupid, if the problem is video UBCD wont help, but you could test your ram in another computer using UBCD

Ok. So i was about to buy that mobo i posted on here and someone used the buy it now option and i couldnt buy it. I looked around and now i cant find any other identical boards. Can you suggest any socket 423 motherboards from anywhere? Also, i searched E210882 because that is the number printed on the mobo but a lot come up as a dell mobo with socket 478 which wouldnt work. Id appreciate any more help you guys can give me. Thanks!
