Guys, I really appreciate your time and effort.
After copying the files to my hard drive with DVD Rebuilder (which took 163 minutes even with this super-duper Intel Xeon going full bore), DVD Shrink worked. Shrunk it to a DVD5 with no problem. Thanks a million.
I checked out the whole CCE thing but it was like asking somebody what time it is and they tell you how to build a clock so I just used the encoder DVD Rebuilder had included. Again, I honestly do appreciate your energy and time.
Next time I run into an "unshrinkable" DVD, I'll be using DVD Rebuilder.

willyloma - i take it you mean you used DVD Shrink to purely burn the movie (ie with Imgburn or DVD Decrypter as the burning engine in DVD Shrink), not to Shrink the movie ?, as DVD Rebuilder will do the shrinking for you, ie no need for Shrink if you use Rebuilder.. Just make sure you set Rebuilder to DVD-5 in settings, not DVD-9....

..plus it took the Xeon 3 hours in Rebuilder ?, ouch!; my P4 2.4 machine used to take 4/5 hours in Rebuilder, hence why i now have this shiny new Quad Core machine, most movies now take only 30/40 minutes in Rebuilder :)

I'm sorry I spoke too soon! As I was in process with AnyDVD and CloneDVD and it seemed to be doing this DVD as usual, just like every DVD that I ever did with it..... at 97% I get an error message saying that AnyDVD should be updated and yet I have the latest update for AnyDVD and the process stopped.......... Mean while I used DVDREMAKE PRO and took out all unnecessary things that I don't want in a DVD and now am processing with DVDRebuilder with CCE...... DVDRebuilder is now in Phase III and working properly, so far...........When I worked with the DVD in DVDRemake Pro, I noticed it had 2 endings and I think that disrupted the DVD structure and gave CloneDVD2 a problem. Green Chair is a Korean movie and when it was produced for DVD in Region 1 I guess they put on extra ending for credits and such in English since this movie audio is in Korean w/English Subtitles. Being this is an Asian movie released in Region 1 for USA this produced a problem. I'll report back when DVDRebuilder w/CCE finishes and inspect for a working DVD5 after burning.

OK..... DVDRebuilder w/CCE did the job...... and not CloneDVD2. I guess because of the extra English ending that was put on the DVD for credits after the original movie was finished is the culprit for DVD structure that CloneDVD2 couldn't process. That's just my opinion.... that's the only difference that I see with this DVD than other movies.... I edited it out and it worked fine with DVDR ..... At least there is a means to do this DVD with other programs!

Couple of questions. Is CCE the program that costs $2000?

Even using DVD-Rebuilder and CCE, you were not able to copy and shrink the whole disc, including the English credits?

so green chair is in korean audio not english (only second ending part english)

you couldnt do whole film as is it crapped out on you.

take out second ending with dvd remake pro and all well.

ok, so even if you just anydvd/clone dvd 2 the main movie would it still not rip ihoe?

------------

there is a CCE £2000 but also a free one i think dvdR uses?

Nothing here to see, move along folks.

the movie would rip....... AnyDVd would rip movie but for some reason CloneDVD2 would crap out at 97% due to the DVD structure at the end of the movie! And it was only the credits that seem to have a problem with..... edit out the credits at the end and this movie is can be done like all the rest!

I got a perfect copy - all languages, all subtitles, all menus, all features.
1. I copied the DVD to my hard drive using AnyDVD and the simple copy function in Windows XP.
2. I used DVD Rebuilder and it's internal decoder/encoder on the files stored on the hard drive. Didn't use CCE because it was ridiculously complicated and had more fixes than a heroin addict.
3. I used DVD Shrink on the Rebuilt files stored on the hard drive to shrink the DVD to a DVD5 because I didn't know DVD Rebuild would do that!
4. I burned the DVD to a DVD+R using Nero Express.
That DVD Rebuilder is a great program when all else fails, but it's slooooowwwww. And now, on to another post to figure out why the audio in Shoot 'Em Up is full of pops and crackles!
Thanks, Guys!

Yes on both accounts, but many people (myself included) swear by it when shrink or its brother Nero Recode's compression level gets to around 80%
or below. Its hard to beat on discs with high compression.

@willyloma.........if you used DVDRebuilder then you didn't need to use Shrink! DVDRebuilder already makes it to fit to a DVD5 .... why would you need Shrink??? And CCE is used with DVDRebuilder and is incorporated into the program..... there is nothing you have to do! DVDRebuilder does it for you! So you don't need to know how to run CCE! Now, DVDRebuilder is an encoder not a transcoder, like shrink or clonedvd2, so naturally it will take longer to do but the results are much better than shrink or Clonedvd and well worth the wait!

Thanks for the clarification on the DVD-Rebuilder and CCE thing. You said you used DVDRebuilder w/CCE.

I had read that CCE costs $2000 dollars to buy separately. But it's free when incorporated in DVD-Rebuilder? Or is the $2000 CCE a different thing?

DVD Rebuilder has it's own encoder so you don't need to buy CCE. The pros claim CCE is much better, but the copy I got looked just like the original so I didn't see the need to pay for CCE.

If you didnt use Rebuilder to encode and shrink your file, I dont think you would see a difference because you didnt lose any size or shrink it at all. Not that you would anyway, DVD-RB is such a great program. I'm glad for you that it didnt need a whole lot of compression to put on a DVD-5, you might've seen the difference if it were otherwise.

I don't use CCE anymore, just HC Encoder now (Hank's Encoder, it's free), as it's multi-cpu aware, i have a sexy Quad core machine now so HC Encoder kicks off 4 processes ie 1 in each cpu.
