I'll be burning 8x media after my last 4x media runs out.
Why not burn premium media at 16x? Quality or burn issues?

you can chance it if you want but most likely the burn quality won't be as good. burn a few at 8x then burn a few at 16x run them though the nero quality scan and see what your scores are. bet the 8x burn speed come out better over all

Hope this thread has not died!
Does all this advice on buying blank media apply to double/dual layer DVD+-R media as well?
It seems to me that there is just more to go wrong with the DL discs, but that is my personal opinion.

Where ever you go, there you are.

your best choice for DL media is Verbatim DVD+R DL keeping your burn speed at 4x max or even burn at 2.4x
