a) It's a MicroATX board, you know that right? Lacking in most features, and has fewer slots on it. You will also have to reinstall windows when you install it, since the two chipsets are different
b) I wouldn't order from MicroDirect, I found them to have terrible customer service.
i didnt no that about micro atx, ill have to try and find a full size one. ive just emailed micro direct and told them i want a refund instead of a replacement, so when that comes through i will order the one reccomended by you. i also found micro direct customer services to be crap, i spent an hour on hold yesterday until i eventually ran out of credit(£13)!
right thats that sorted ! now back to the graphics card, out of the 5 listed above im now thinking either of these:
Microdirect probably won't do a damn about a refund. Their company policy is that if the item's worth less than £100, they don't offer any customer support unless taken to court. I've first hand experience with that.
As for the graphics card, I HIGHLY recommend these
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/135726 Nearly twice as fast as any X1000 / 7 series card.
sorry to hear about the way they treated u sam, i can only hope i dont get delt the same treatment!
the graphics card reccomended looks good, and maybe twice the speed, but is also twice the price unfortunatly! im limited to a £50 budget but i can push to £55 if its worth it...
OK not to worry, the X1950GT, 7600GT and HD2600XT are all decent performing graphics cards. However, Gecube, Powercolor and Zotac are all pretty rubbish manufacturers.
I'd recommend going with this:
