You're welcome, Jim.

@ pspluvr,

You?ve cleaned up quite a bit. But your HJT Log was cut off and I couldn?t get much from it.
Let?s clean a little deeper.

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop.

? Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
? At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
? If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
? Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
? When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
? Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
? When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location. The log can also be found here: C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\log-date.txt
? Please post contents of that file in your next reply.

Download ComboFix from Here But, BEFORE saving it to your Desktop, Rename it to Combo-Fix.exe with a hyphen ? in the middle.
? Very Important! Temporarily disable your anti-virus, script blocking and any anti-malware real-time protection before performing a scan. They can interfere with ComboFix or remove some of its embedded files which may cause "unpredictable results".
? Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.

? When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post the Combofix log, MBAM Log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply

Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall.

Hey pspluvr , your log is clean. You have Viewpoint Toolbar which I would un-install, but that?s strictly up to you..

Are you having any problems?

Just one: the last two times I've left my computer idle long enough for the screen to shut off, it halted. I think this is only when I'm logged on, because I've done the same thing while on the logon screen and it was just fine. That's the only problem.

Thanks for the help. I'm recommending this page to anyone I know who needs help.

Check the power settings in your screen saver. It may be set to shut down after a period of time. Probably the same amount of time as the monitor shut off...

2OG

P.S. The Welcome screen and Login screen saver is a different animal than the Logged-in one..

Hey Mr. 2OG,

You helped me out before and I need it again. The computer had a program running called "extra antivirus". When spyware doctor deleted it, the computer crashed and hasn't been the same. The computer will not shut down and when I connect it to the internet, I get the Blue Screen Of Death and:

*** STOP: 0x0000008E (0xc0000005, 0xf717fc7c, 0xf675d7ec, 0x00000000)

I went into safe mode and ran Hijackthis, copied the log to a floppy and loaded it into another computer so I could send it to you.

What do you suggest now?

Thank you.

Jim
