Thanks for the Heads Up on Nero. I hadn't updated yet.

Concerning Memorex, it is only the DVD's. Clearly not everyone has problems...and I think the Sony burners may be more forgiving. I have a 530A that is pretty good with some Mem's that came my way, but I still get a bad burn every now and then. If I had to buy 'em, I'd go to Ritek.

Glad to help, and that it was easily fixed. I'll keep an eye out for Ritek dvd's, but I don't think they are available at retail locally.

You will have to go online to get Ritek...and get them in bulk quantities.

As far as good DVD+R's go, I have had very good luck with Sony and Ritek. They both ID'd as RICOHJPNO1. I've only had one bad disk in 40 or so. I checked them with Nero CD-DVD Speed. Surface and file scans were 0 errors.

All,

Thanks for your input. I bought the Ritek DVD+Rs 4x from Meritline and I have had no problems so far. For me, the problem was the media. The only problem wih DVD+Rs is that they will not play in my Xbox (which was the original reason I switched to the DVD-Rs). I can get over that if they play in my computers and my home player. Thanks everyone for your input. This whole DVD copying thing is a mess right now. Maybe a true standard will emerge as the dual layers make an affordable entrance into the market. I am very impressed with this message board. Again, thanks all for your help.

Thanks!
Bugger :)
