I have a fliptop and swapmagic.
I converted my medal of honor Euro assault from Pal to NTSC using "PS2 PAL TO NTSC PATCHER WITH Y-FIX V1.06 BETA"
Then I ran the game using swapmagic in NTSC format.
In the game, you cant adjust the screen up or down at all.
I set it to yfix offset of 48, and then played the game, and marked the line on my tv screen.
Then I tried 64 offset, and got the exact same line.
So, I found another program called ADR Patcher... same line
What can I do to move the screen up, so that it is centered?

Jdban Hi U could try DVDloader or CDloader with the original. I.E. boot using yr mod or swapdisk, with the DVDloader or CDloader in the drive it will go to the insert disk screen (it should force the game into the right mode [PAD/NTSC] 4 the TV) insert yr original or a copy(not patched PAL>NTSC) then it should boot no problems. Ive just gone through the exact opposite(I live in Australia). With an older TV one of my customers was having trouble that they couldnt play any of their NTSC games or copies (only in B&W). The TV being that old that it wouldnt accept the NTSC signal, only PAL (any TV say 10yrs or younger should play in either mode. U can also force NTSC on any game at the swapMagic 3.3 (insert disc) screen U go down to the video mode & select NTSC instead of normal.

I force it to boot in NTSC and it has the game screen showing an inch or two down from the top... meaning I cant see the bottom of the screen.

Jdban U should b able 2 adjust the horizontal hold on yr TV set 2 get rid of the missing bit at the bottom. I had 2 do this on the 1 I used 2 set up 4 my customer. U dont actually miss out on any of the game. The problem is because of the difference between the line rate that yr NTSC TV scans & the line rate a PAL TV scans at. NTSC has approx 300 lines it scans 2 make the screen where a PAL TV has 465 i think from memory, Working on TVs was 20 - 25 years ago. Does it help U.

How exactly do I do that?
Is it easy to adjust back, because I have only one PAL game
I have a Daewoo, if that makes a difference.

Hi Jdban how old is yr TV ? If it is a reasonably new model it should play PAL just as well as NTSC with no problems. I suppose U did try it first before yr dramas. U cold also try putting the game in & running then try tuning a spare TV channel in 2 the Sony this way it may pick up that the signal coming in to the set(tv) is in PAL. This depends whether U r using a aerial convertor or the AV (RCA) leads from the Sony. If this works U can have a special TV channel 4 yr PAL games. What game is it?

Buy a proper RGB cable for your ps2. That should solve all your problems, it solved mine. The ones Sony supply with your PS2 are composite scart cables that aint up to the job of playing both PAL and NTSC.

Dix_Fix,
The game is Medal of Honor: European Assault.
I have the original cables sony gave me.
I would like to try other things before spending more money.
If you can explain how I can do that stuff, I will try it.
Thank you.

Hi Jdban honestly I dont think that U need to worry about new cables, Im not sure what problem mrlip was having but I not sure that it is applicable here as I use PAL & NTSC games all the time in my machines (V7, V9, V12) with the standard cable with NO problems EVER.
Can U supply more info, U may email me direct if U like dix_fix@primusonline.com.au

I.E.
Model No: SCPH xxxxx
PS2 > TV, connection: scart(50 odd pin almost rectangular with 1 end slanting in), AV(standard), composite(aerial)
TV Model: Daewoo ???
TV connections (on the rear)i.e. aerial,AV1,AV2,composite,scart,optical

Bummer I have Medal Of Honor European Assult but its PAL
If it was the NTSC version I could have given U a copy as Im sure this would not infringe copyright seeing as how U own the original.
My Medal Of Honor Rising Sun is(NTSC) typical eh!!

Jdban just had a brainwave, if yr desperate 4 this game 2 work properly (as I think this is a problem with yr TV not yr PS2)U could simply go down 2 yr local video store & hire an NTSC copy of the game & copy it. This again is legal because U own the original. If U own the original yr allowed 2 make & use a copy. If yr original wont work or wont work how U think it should U r intitled to get a copy elswhere.
U have a mod obviously or the PAL game wouldnt boot.

Since we are in different countries, some of these things may be different

This is a issue for a few of my PAL games... I would like to fix all this in one fell swoop, instead of renting a copy from the video store for each

Model No: SCPH 30001
PS2 > TV, connection: scartAV(standard) [I have the one with the 3 parts(here its yellow(video) red(audio) and white(audio))]
TV Model: Its a daewoo, model number DTQ-19V1FC. I found it here http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0002471XI/102-2288...

TV connections (on the rear)i.e. aerial,AV1,AV2,composite,scart,optical
Not sure... but this site has all the specs
