Hi all,
i recently brought these -
MSI RG54G2 wireless 11g broadband router (for my desktop)
ASUS WL-107G wireless LAN cardbus adapter (for my laptop)

got them from the local computer fair, i told the guy on the stall i was just looking for a simple way to share my internet connection between the two PC's, & thats what he reccomended, hardware wise. (dunno why he said use to router & card from different manufacturers tho, that seemed odd to me)

i have done everything by the book to set the router up, got the info for IP address, subnet mask, default gateway etc. & entered into the router's config page. no joy. the thing will not let me connect to the internet.

I installed the card into the laptop with the CD that came with it, that seems ok, when the router is switched on & connected to the desktop, the laptop can see it as a networked computer, so i think i got that bit right.

i done a bit of reading here on this subject here & people seem to talk about SSID, WEP, encryptions & so on? whaa? me no understand..

only other info i can give you is my broadband connection is Telewest 1.5mb (UK), static IP address. the modem is connected to my digital cable tv box, not the phone line. dont know whether that makes any difference..

Any help is greatfully recieved, people..

Throoow me a frickin' booone here, please.. I really dont want to phone Telewest's technical helpline, cos it costs £1 a minute (WTF!?)
