My (slim) ps2 is modded with a Magic V Mod chip, though I bought it used and dont know the exact version. Anyway my question is, will my ps2 read DVD+R backups or only DVD-R backups. I wish there was an easy way for me to tell you what version I have. All I know is that I have been able to successfully play a ps1 game backup by swapping at the PSX logo screen, but my ps2 backup of Killzone wont play. I ripped it with DVD decryptor and burned with nero at the lowest setting, but my dvd burner only supports DVD+R.. so am I screwed and have to buy a new burner. Any feedback/links to magic v mod tutorials would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Why do you buy mod chips that cant even play DVD+R games? I prefer Swap Magic discs Im able to play DVD-Rs And DVD+Rs with just a touch of a button!

winning, no I havent. I only have DVD+R's and only a DVD+r burner so I havent gotten any to play. I may try copying one of my blue back cd games though.

and serranoX3 please actually READ my post before you make comments like that. I said I bought my ps2 used. A dude traded it in at the store where I work and told us it was modded, we weren't even supposed to take it in, but I figured if im gonna buy it why not. All I know is what the guy told me. He told me what kind it was but not what version or whatever. So please dont bother replying if you're just gonna advertise the method you use, that does me no help. k thx

serranoX3 do u even know anything about mod chips??
I have a magic chip 3.1 which is older than the magic V, and my chip plays +& -r. The chip doesn't really matter, because it all dependson what ps2 version u have. Older ps2's version 4 and less tend to read only -r whereas newer versions can read both.
Matt92683 maybe ur ps2 isn't modded and the guy lied to u. Did he actually play a burned game on the ps2 before you bought it??

Ps2 Version 7.
Magic 3.1
Memorex DVD-R, Maxell DVD-R
