I'm slowly but surely getting all my music into MP3 format. When I get 4.7GB, I burn the albums onto DVD.

What is the best way to store these DVDs to ensure that will be readable when I need to access them again? Should I put each disc in individual jewell cases? Paper sleeves? Or just stack them in an old cakebox?. If individually, should they be stored flat, or on the edge?

Thanks

To be honest I would say the jewel case, because if you use the cake box they can slide around and scratch each other. If you use the paper sleeves they are very flimsy and your discs can bend making it hard to read. The best thing to use is the jewel cases that is my honest opinion.Just make some Data discs or use a program to convert them to Dvd for a Dvd player such as Audio Dvd Creator or something familiar. It depends to be honest, but you can decide what you think is best for you.

i use 240-capacity wallets (big & heavy when they're full. They're only cheapy ones but they protect the discs well if you are careful putting them in and out. They're kept safely out of light and i store them edgeways so the weight isn't leaning on any of the discs.

It's important to keep discs out of direct sunlight, i've got some that have been damaged due to prolonged light

yes jewel cases would be the best in a cool room without light and store them standing up side by side.

Thanks. I got a cheap wallet to keep them in. It'll be stored in a drawer out of the light.
