I have used dvd decypter to back up several of my dvds. However, recently when copying them to my computer then burning them to a dvd, the copy is missing scenes from the movie. I think this is because the original was skipping. Is there any way to correct this problem or some way I would be able to know when the copy is missing scenes so I do not keep wasting media?
This could happen in any step of the burning process, so maybe you should copy to harddisk first, check, then burn.
If this happens only to the final product, then try change to better media.
Good luck!
Let us assume that the info. is there intact, and it's only a mechanical problem. In that case, you may try:
1) rip the original DVD into a popular format (e.g. avi) with something like ImToo DVD Ripper (commercial) and save on HD to check, or
2) salvage the files with something like PC Inspector File Recovery (free program).
Good luck!
