Which P2P Network is the least safe to download from as in being caught e.g. E-mule/E-donkey, Bit Torrent, WinMX, etc.
Is it true it's not who you downlaod from it's what you download. Any help or tips is appreciated.

im probably just making a generalisation here but all of the cases ive heard of people being sued or prosecuted theve been sharing files. IMHO the best option is to share nothing and take all you want, slfish i know but thats the reality. Theres nothing stopping the RIAA or MPAA computers monitoring your ip address over the net as peerguardian will show you but to be honest im pretty sure its only the uploaders there after not the leechers but maybe im wrong.

i'm on dialup, yet i still upload about as much as i download. just change your files around a lot--switch up what you upload. use different networks as well. when you settle in on one method on one network, you become an easy target. please don't just lower yourself to the level of of a leecher. they deserve to be shot. :-)

oh, weazel200, you should probably change your siggy image, as the rules say, "no foul language," and you've got the s-word (lol) in there.

iv heard that Limewire is safe and very fast. P.S. it depends on what you download. you can get sued only for downloading copy-right material.

Why on earth are you people so afraid of being tracked down?

1. If you're on a network, YOU ARE, trackable. Peer Guardian or not.

2. IP Ghosting programs are good, but you can't hide from you ISP's sub-net mask. Which of course is trackable.

I live in Canada, I UP files, I DOWN files. My ISP is obligated by law not to disclose what my connection is doing unless the RCMP suspects child porn.

For you folks in the US, damn my friends there are just way too many of you to prosecute.

Everyone in the US that has a PC should be upping and downing, Where is the control? That would be one heck of a class action lawsuit, That'll never happen.

I beleive in freedom on the internet, for the good, and for the bad, for the taking, and for the giving.

Have a Great Day M8!

Well Auslander, if...you don't mind...

1. Being taxed to death
2. Governed by idiots that don't know left from right
3. long winters
4. shitty roads and highways
5. no death penalty here

Come on Up! M8

don't worry:

1. been there, done that, got a few ways around it
2. same situation here, anyway
3. i'm a cold weather person (with a few interesting stories, Boy Scout training, and a thick coat of "fur") and winter is my favorite season.
4. i'm getting a Subaru Impreza (all-wheel drive) and, with Missouri winters, i've learned to handle some tricky conditions. most the roads around my house don't qualify much above "dirt," believe it or not :-)
5. i guess i'll have a new hobby, then.

in conclusion (lol), Canada sounds abso-fsckin-lutely great. i'm heading up there straight after college, and before if this damn draft kicks in. i don't want to take chances :-)

hey auslander, you know whats funny, i did a "Whats New" search in the programs tab of the basic limewire and there is always a choice to download the limewire pro off of limewire basic. that is a little taste of the own medicine for p2p companys.
