Hi there,

In the past, I tried IMTOO CD Ripper and it worked great.

the only ripper any one should be using if they care about quality is EAC (exact audio copy). It is hands down the best ripper ever created. Its the only ripper to provide bit accurate error correction to ensure a 100% rip, and when used with the LAME dll plugin with VBR (variable bitrate) settings it will create the highest quality mp3s possible.

In other words, it doesn't compare to WMP or any other ripper.

We have a full step by step guide on how to install and use EAC here:

For the best quality mp3s use EAC (exact audio copy) to rip your audio CDs and LAME to encode them. Follow this guide:

All well and good, but most CD's don't need such vigorous error correction. Most people just want something that's fast, and provides high quality compression.

I'm using SmartEncode (http://smartencode.beplaced.com/) which gives simply the best audio quality available yet, although it might not have the scratch-repair routines that EAC does.

you'd be suprised, I've ripped many CDs that seem clean, yet require error correction. I wouldn't trust anything but EAC, but if the other stuff works for you then kudos.

Just a beginner, but what if I want to make Compilation Cd's and not Mp3's, will this same procedure work?

What do you mean by "compilation CD"? Are you trying to pack every song into one long track? If so yes. EAC doesn't create Mp3s, LAME.exe is responsible for that. All EAC does is create pristine WAVE files. You may use whatever external compression you want after (or not at all).

thats super, but this is for ripping CDs, not DVDs, and why use a ripper you have to pay for when DVD Decrypter is the best and is free...
