I have a Panasonic dvd player that plays DVD-R's, not DVD+R's. I have a movie that doesn't work on the DVD player as a DVD+R. I burned it onto a DVD-R to make it compatible. This method should work, right? I put in the new disc and it doesn't play. Both the original DVD+R and the DVD-R work on my computer. What's wrong?

Where did the movie come from, is the movie not compatible because of a Pal or NTSC issue?

It's a Hindi movie I got from Pakistan. I checked the region in Nero InfoTool and it says "n/a" so I guess there is none.

Ok but I'm not talking region but PAL os NTSC. If you have Clone2 read the disc, it will tell you PAL or NTSC

I found out that its frame rate is 29.97 which is NTSC.

I take it you live in N America, NTSC is compatible with your player?

When you copied it from the original to a dvd-r did you do it with Decrypter? The original could be missing files, ifo, bup etc It may need to be re-authored to play on a stand alone

I used Decrypter to get the ISO and I think I did it right. Every other dvd I tried has worked so far.

Maybe the original is missing files. It's region free, NTSC, dvd-r, and it plays on your computer, were kinda running out of things here. Use Shrink and re-author that original disk, if it's missing somethink Shrink will get it

I re-authored using Shrink and it turns out the backup was missing a file. Well, that was weird. Thanks!!
