I own and love my DVDXCOPY software.
I also have a dual layer burner in my new Dell.
I have copied movies without a problem using just the regular DVD+R.
Could someone explain to me what are the dual layer discs used for?

The dvds you have been burning with hold 4.38Gb of data. Most movies are bigger than this so they need to be compressed to fit. With copression can come a loss in quality. Dual layer discs have to layers that can be written to so they can hold 8.5Gb of data. Most Hollywood dvds are dual layer discs. So it you were making backups to dual layer dvds no compression would be required. X-Copy can not write to dual layer discs

... All you really need is DVD Decrypter (FREE) ... Using a DL disc will give you an exact copy in all respects ...
