Recieving Cable TV Through Your Computer

Hi, is there anyway i can view cable tv through my computer? i do have a set top box with cable on it, but would like to recieve it on my pc aswell, i have heard some people talk about tv tuner cards or something? do they do the job? and is there anything you can use to get all the cable channels (including ones i don't have on my actuall set top box) on your computer? such as tuning them on maybe?
