hi i just finished buliding my own computer today and the problem is that when i turn it on it turns on and then just shuts off after 10seconds or so here is a list of all the hardware i usesd

motherboard: Asus P5AD2-E PREMIUMN
CPU- INTEL P4 3.0
MAXTOR 250BG
LG DVD DRIVE
ATI PCI EXPRESS ALL IN WONDER 256MB
1 GB KINGSTON DDR2 RAM 533MHZ

did u put thermal paste between the cpu and its cooler?

thats the most common thing to cause this.
or you could have a short somewhere on the board where a piece of the underside of the motherboard is touching the case metal, or your power supply may be under powered.

the first option sounds most likely though.

should be alright as cpu has thermal shutdown
