I am having a problem with my Slim PS2 recently. (SCPH-70012)

It is modded with the Slim Tool, and I use Swap Magic disks to play my backup and imported games.

Recently, when playing my Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana backup, I had to leave the console on for about two hours or so, because i could not get to a save point in time before I had to go do something important. I came home and the game was still running fine. I played a bit more, saved my progress, turned the console off, and went to work.

Now, about six hours later, when I try to run my backup again, the game will go through the memory card checking process, and then show the Dolby Digital ProLogic II splash screen. After this, though, the laser stays in one place and the game doesn't do anything.

I'm at a loss as to what is wrong. I've re-burned this game twice, both times flawlessly, on Memorex DVD+Rs at 2.4x (the lowest speed for my burner). Still it does the same thing. All my other backup games work fine. Even on the fresh burns, the same thing happens.

Any help is greatly appreciated..

MEMOREX is not good media! Try using better media like VERBATIM,MAXELL, or TDK.

Or you can try booting the game again without the memory card inserted in your PS2. Because sometimes the files are corrupted and and it can cause the game not to boot correctly.

Thanks, Serrano. I don't know why the files were bad, but I was able to boot it with no problems without the memory card.

By the way, all my games are burned on Memorex DVD+Rs. They haven't given me any problems yet.

I agree with SerranoX3
Memorex are crap. When they run out i suggest you switch to a better media.
