Hey all,

I want to get some new speakers for my Yamaha amp and was thinking of using DJ speakers as 1 of my mate has hooked up DJ speakers to a standard stereo and its quite impressive.
I was just wondering if its physically possible to connect and function properly. heres a link of what I was looking at:

Im pretty sure that they are 8ohms which my amp can handle (im emailing the person to verify).

look like nice speakers.you're on the right track checking the ohm rating.yahama makes really nice equipment also.what you don't want is to burn out that receiver.i burned out a kenwood a few years ago with speakers that were wired wrong inside the box.turned out the four speakers in the box were all wired together in series making it a 1 ohm configuration which pulls alot more wattage,but the amp was not designed for anything below 4 ohms.they did work well though for a few months.

sorry,when i said wired in series i meant wired in parallel.parallel lowers the ohms, series raises the ohms.doing too many things at once i guess.

right, i checked through the manual and it states that the main speakers (front right + left) gotta be 4/8 OHMS or higher which is perfect if the speakers are in fact 8 OHM, which im still waiting to find out as the seller has not returned my email.

does anyone have any comments on the polk rm6800 spkrs and yamaha rxv 2400 a/v receiver? How about the Harmon Kardon HKTS14 sprks? From what i've been reading on forums...they all out perform bose.
