I have noticed a couple of times now that when I burn a CDR using a cue sheet (EAC made) and for some reason my Plextor hangs again during the writing lead-in phase and it already started (lets say 16% is already written) I can use the same CDR again to write (that same or another) cue sheets.

Left alone the weakness of EAC's writing capabilities (which beta 3 still has) the question is about the writing.

How can it be that an already (partly) written CDR can be overwritten again?

It clearly is in the writing lead-in phase when the burner hangs. Both my Plex flashes indicating the burning process has started as well as EAC or CDRWin show the burning is in progress. So when I can get the CDR out of the tray it definitaly is burned (you can see it too). But when I try the same CDR again I can burn over the data it burned the first time.

How's that?
