I am intrested in buying a 'DVD PLAYER RECORDER' but I have the promblem of how to choose the right one for me!!! I have all sony - TV, Cineama Surround System,DVD Player and VCR as now I would like advice - would it be better to buy same make or different make DVD PLAYER RECORDER?
I have also seen a DVD PLAYER RECORDER with a hard drive in it, now then does this mean I can record on the hard drive, and then burn it onto dvd disc or can record and watch on the hard drive and burn straight onto DVD disc if I wanted too?
Can a DVD be transfered onto the hard drive and burn onto a blank disc?
Please Reply As Soon As Possible!!!!!!

I'm not informed on stand alone DVD recorders but here is a site that you can use to find out about the model you might be looking to buy!
http://www.videohelp.com/dvdwriters.php
just type in the model and it will give you the specs and also comments on whether it is a good one or not! this site also does media too..... make sure you burn with the right manufacted media that is best for your recorder! Rule of thumb..... the media is half the problem.... if you get the best then you can dismiss any problem about recording due to the media because it AINT' THE MEDIA! sO it must be the recorder or the software!~
good luck and I'm sorry I couldn't help you out more than this! maybe others can give you the information that you are looking for!

I think with what was said already you can make an inteligent decission on your own. Or you can always pick up a magazine and read all about it, too. Usually PC World or HighFidelity mags are a good read. They have stuff about DVD Writers, too.

Wrote "QUOTE
A copy protected DVD cannot be copied onto the HD without using some sort of video stabilizer (like the Sima unit)
As far as sticking with Sony .. If you can afford it, it is very good stuff ...
"UNQUOTE"
-----------------------------------------------------------------
A Hacked LiteOn /Ilo, using another DVD player or/and VCR will copy any disk better than any Sima or other unit.
I used to use Sony but they have become so involved in there prtection schemes that they forgot about making products that work.
