I have seen video cards labled as PCI Express. I have read lofty writeups talking about them. I seen where they may replace the AGP and PCI slots. What I have looked for but have not seen is the simple, down to earth statement to tell me whether or not the PCI Express fits into an AGP slot or a PCI slot. If anyone knows the answer and can tell me without trying to impress me with lofty computer language, please reply to this.
AGP slot or PCI slot? Or is it a slot designed specifically for PCI Express?

Its a specialized slot for pci express. Most of the newer motherboards are coming with two pci express slots so you can run two cards in S.L.I.. Scalable Link Interface. Hope that helps answer your question.

the pci express standard fits into a specialized pci slot.

the pci express x16 is slightly faster then agp8x. they will probably get the pcie x32 out within a few years making it much faster then the agp8x.

gorec9897, pci/e slots cannot use pci cards because of the setback of the pci/e slot away from back of case compared to a pci slot. check this link & you'll see a pci card wont fit a pci/e slot. http://tw.giga-byte.com/MotherBoard/Products/Products_GA-K8NF-9.htm#
