ok I have a problem I'm using swap magic 3.6 with slide card tool I have removed the drawer cover and run the software when I try to use TDK dvd-r 8x media with either Onimusha 3, Dragonball Z Budokai 3 or Kingdon Hearts I get a not a valid ps2 disc.. I tried burning at different speeds but no difference but I'm sure the copies are fine because they load the same way the actual ps2 games do on the pc. my ps2 plays dvd-r tdk movies just fine. I'm not quite sure I'm using the slide card tool correctly... if someone could explain to me in detail how this works... I get the drawer to pop loose but then I end up having to pull it out. was I suposed to put the screw back on the bottom of the tray that i removed at the beginning... I really confused about how this works any help would be appreciated

once you load SM and use the card to lift the tab that locks the drive, you use the card (pressed against the drive tray) to open the drive. swap your discs, close the drive (with the card pressed in the same position to the tray) and use the hook of the card to pull the drive-locking tab back in place. press X on your controller and you should load perfectly.

google is a wonderful thing
http://www.swapmagic3.com/Swap_Magic_Feature.htm
go to this link and it will show you in a video etc how to do it
when i first started with the slide card it is quite difficult, but eventually you will get it right
the way to know if your not doing it right is if when you press x to load the game you can hear the drive lock if you didnt do it properly

i have to agree with auslander...if you slide the tool, once it "grabs" the pin, to the left it will unlock the tray and you can pull out the tray(GENTLY)...put backup in tray push closed....put slide tool back in and move the pin to the right to lock the tray back in....

make sure you're locking the tray back in after the swap and doing everything exactly right. from there, if you're still getting the error, we'll have to troubleshoot.

2x is a safer speed to burn at, but 4x works most of the time and, for the sake of convenience, most burn at it. some people burn at 8x, but that's a mistake (to me) as it isn't often a stable speed.

ok so I finally figured it out it clicked right into place after swapping to backup wow its that easy isn't it??? I feel so dunce..
anyway I'm still have an issue where my ps2 intermintently loads the swap magic software. its like every ten times I boot ps2 that it loads and my drive is making funny noises. it works fine on a SCPH-30001 but on my SCPH-39001 it intermintently works.. My other games, real games work fine with no funny noises and I cleaned lense still won't load the swapmagic disc everytime. cleaned with maxell lense cleaner. any thoughts???
