are these as good as dvd-r? since i can´t burn dvds now below 4x, should i burn these at 4x or 8x? thanks

All verbatum's are solid. I have burned at least 3 cakes of that particular media, no coasters, no problems.

I'll assume your not pulling my leg. A [coaster], is what you use the disc for, after it has failed to burn. ie., under your frosty beer. Think I'll go get one.
