Hey..today i just searched for how to burn ps2 games and i found this site. I cant really get a understanding of it. I have a DVD + R burner, and had success with the DVD Decrypter. I burned it to a dvd +r disk and popped it on my ps2 and it didnt work. Can some please explain to me all the steps i must do, or what else I need.

look, you need a mod on your ps2! what makes you think sony are dumb enough to make a system that reads and plays copies straight from the box? they dont
you need a mod in order to trick the ps2 into thinking you havent tampered with the cd drive, this is either a mod chip or swap magic which is a set of boot discs
swap magic needs another mod to work, either a fliptop or a slidecard or a magic switch
it will not work without a mod, that is the only way and this is why
PS2 games are actually pressed DVD/CD discs, they are not burned. PS2 games use the Burst Cutting Area (BCA) of the disc to identify themselves to the PS2 unit. The BCA is not part of a disc that you can burn on, it is only replicated on pressed discs.
So, the only way to play backups is to get boot-discs or a mod-chip.
With the boot-discs (swap magic) you need a 'tool' to open
the tray without pressing eject for the backups to work.

it's all fine and dandy, if you're one of these new-age nutcases that understands that. but the general population probably won't even get the jist of that statement :-/

The standard flip on the new slimline PS2 will not work without a lot of hassle putting bits of cut stram in certain places etc... The lid has little prongs which contact with switches, and these will reset the unit when the standard lid is lifted. You will need to get a mod flip lid for the PS2, these can be found at most sites selling swap magic, even ebay sellers are knocking them out nice and cheap. Yet again, Sony were not daft enough to make the unit without somw sort of copy protection built in. New flip lid takes about 5 minutes to fit, but mine needs a small bit of plastic tape on RHS to stop it moving and resetting the unit.
