i have Verbatim DVD-R 8x Media with swap magic 3.6
so far i have backed up 3 games god of war,DDR Max1, and viewtiful Joe.
All of them boot and can be played, But cutscens are choppy Audio/video (extremly bad in viewtiful joe). Also the load times in DDR are much longer then the orginal.
And my swapmagic disks get DRE's at bootup and need to be reinserted several times to work.

any feedback would be greatly appreciated

PS i have a V7 PS2, slide card method

first and most important clean your ps2 lens.alcohol and a cotton swab works best(if you need instructions just ask).also check the swap magic disc to see if there is any scratches on it.you said the swap magic disc themselves have trouble booting up right?

Since you have good media and the games boot. What you may need is to adjust your laser. I tried that with one of my ps2s and it booted the games faster and Swap Magic boots everytime I insert it. Before I had my laser adjusted I was getting choppy cut scenes like you said. And I had to reset the ps2 each time I wanted to boot Swap Magic. Try this and see if it works. TRY IT AT YOUR OWN RISK. Because you need to open up your ps2. Go here http://www.cyber-mag.com/station/laserPS2.htm and follow the instructions.

Cheers

the backups arent really an issue since his swap magic discs are messing up(commercial media).you have to take the cover off to clean your lens anyway.what i did with my old ps2 was clean the lens then adjusted it.cleaning the lens did the trick but adjusting it helped read some problem discs(games that were over 4gb).

Thanks for all the feedback :)
Yesterday i have cleaned the lens with rubbing alchole and q-tips
works much better now, still a small stutter every now and then but nothing that really bothers me.
Also my swap magic discs boot more often but still get DRE's sometimes.
Would adjusting the lens help this?
thx in advance

Edit. I burn my games at 1X in DVD Decrypter

give them another cleanse with alocohol and if that doesnt do you any better then proceed to adjust the lens while you still have the cover off.
